got malware/virus from installation

I am doing this as a courtesy, so I don't have time to give more details that you will find here. I tried to just notify adobe but they seem allergic to their own customers. I had to acquire a very old imac because I own the disc version of the CS suite that I paid $1400 for and I do not feel like paying a monthly fee now. I have been upgrading everything to the furthest point I can that still allows the suite to function. I ran into trouble when a website complained about the flash player. I couldn't install the most recent version as it won't work on this osx version. (details below) So, I searched adobe's site for previous versions and found a section where developers could obtain such things. I have double checked the link and it is a valid adobe link.

When I installed the old version of flash player it brought a friend along. It commandeered my browser and did the usual song and dance about the machine being infected and how i must do blah blah blah. Nah. I quit the browser and got back in but I simply will not log into anything until I can get this dealt with. I am currently using my pc laptop to log in here. This is no small deal... that imac is critical to the design aspect of my business. I cannot easily do a virus scan bc the osx version isn't supported anymore and I am having a hard time locating the upgrade to the next couple of OSX versions. So I can't just easily get rid of this and I am just really unimpressed that adobe isn't doing a better job of keeping these downloads clean.

Please do not tell me it couldn't have come from adobe because adobe is the only place it could have come from.

I am running osx 10.8.5 (until I can obtain a copy of 10.9 and 10.10)

Using chrome browser

The file downloaded was: fp_13.0.0.250_archive.zip

I installed the mac version contained within that

Now I can't use my imac to log into anything until I am certain that whatever this malware or virus is has been cleaned and I can't just run a virus checker etc. So thank you adobe for your bang up job of having trustworthy downloads

Maybe this is a disguised blessing since there are so many posts about this version I detected today. This is my business since this is my computer; but I want to move the installer before I update my Flash Player. I want to move it to a subfolder before I begin installing. Usually it is less of a problem than now. Why do you design your installers with such a problem? I have other things to do today beside fool with this garbage. You make too much of a task out of moving your installer with a right click of the mouse, which this time it is too much of a problem to do without causing it to run prematurely. Please cut this out!

So, we have an oddball issue. So we updated Adobe Flash from version 24 to Flash 30 ActiveX version via the MSI distro. When that happened, the add-on in IE disappeared from IE. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled 30, but when I try to install it, it asks for the version 24 MSI. I point to the install, then it says it installs correctly. However, the add-on still not there. So, I once again uninstall 30 and reinstall. This time doesn't ask for the version 24 MSI and installs successfully and I then see the add-on show up in IE. Any way to remedy this on a massive scale. I got about 1400 PCs with this problem and I got people needing to complete education modules soon. I use SCCM as my deployment tool. I tried using the cleanup tool prior to re-installing 30 on a couple machines and that did not help either.

I have a MacBook Air, running OS 10.14, using Firefox 63.0

I've clean downloaded Adobe Flash Player 31.0; the icon for the plug in shows up in the Macintosh HD > Library > Internet Plugins , but when I try to start a lesson on the Mango Language site a window continues to pop up saying that I have to install Adobe Flash Player. It doesn't seem to recognize that It's been installed. Anybody have any ideas?

I've checked the website preferences on my Safari Browser, and they seem to be saying that the Adobe on my computer has critical issues, and it won't download the Flash Player. I need someone to call my on my landline, and talk me through getting this Flash Player issue resolved. I am not a computer programmer, and I cannot follow all your written instructions and questions, and choices. They are all incomprehensible to me, and I need a technician to talk to me on the phone. My version is MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6.

I saw that Flash was trying to install itself in a system folder, even though I had it set to notify before updating. Blocked it, went into the prefs, and saw that the setting had mysteriously changed. I tried to set it back to "notify" and the UI literally switches itself back after I click. Seriously, if y'all are going to be that horrible, just ignore the UI and run the update anyway.

I uninstalled flash but then a few weeks later ran across the one place I still like to have it, so reinstalled it. I was happy to see I could set the preference to ask before updating. And then a week or two later--surprise!--same thing: I caught it trying to update itself without permission, and found that the preference was stuck on "allow Adobe to install updates". That's some seriously user-hostile BS, people.

I started to download the latest edition of adobe flash and the download got interupted leaving a white box in the middle of my screen in the same footprint as the adobe download window. I called apple support and went through all the restarts and eliminated all the installers and it is still there. It covers a large part of the middle of the screen and basically makes the iMac impossible to use. The apple tech said im probably going to need to have someone walk me thru completely removing and then reinstalling adobe flash. We cleared the cookies and there is no malware. The white box does not appear when you restart into safe mode.

I used catalog "https://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/distribution/win/AdobeFlashPlayerCatalog_SCUP .cab " but I get only meta-data content that cannot be downloaded and deployed.

Is there another URL or another way to get full content updates that can be deployed via software updates in SCCM?

I use a MacBook Pro running on MacOS 10.14.2 (Mojave), the Adobe Flash Player asks me to install an update and I do so, the very next day it keeps asking me to again update and does not stop asking until I install again, then even after I install second time it keeps popping up and asking me to update. I have also re-started the browser, that too does not help. Basically it is not storing or recognising the updates.

Thereby, the problem seems to be that it is not recognising the update done but keeps disturbing with the pop up asking to update. Any solutions? Any reason for this to happen. All help highly appreciated.

What is the right distribution license to get for installing Adobe flash player onto a commercial standalone internet connected hardware device or for our virtual machine version of the product?

I see there are two different types of licenses for incorporating Adobe Flash Player into our commercial product at: Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe.

The Royalty-Free license version says "distributor shall not distribute, download, or embed any Adobe Runtime on any non-PC device" for example "internet appliance or other internet-connected device." This seems to imply that we cannot use this license. Can someone confirm?

How do we get someone one the phone to discuss this?

I am trying to create an APP-V package of Mozilla Firefox 60.0.2 with Flash player current version. I am having problems finding the standalone installers. Going to Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions is not an option. The Sequencer is a Windows 2008 R2 server which is blocking the download. I have placed exceptions for Adobe's website and turned off security but I still can't download the software. Why is it so hard to download a standalone copy of free software?

Hello, I am running IE on a windows 7 platform and recently made the horrendous mistake of clikcing to download the new flash. Unfortunately after downloading the installer doesn't automatically run. Adobe helpfully suggests clicking save and open instead, which I have. This then prompts me to choose a program to open it with. The same thing happens if I try to download the installer separately. I cannot get to the point where flash starts to install. To make matters worse whilst trying to fix it I deleted the previous version (a website said it might be the issue- it wasn't) and now I can't even get back to that. Has anyone came across this before and knows what to do? Also please don't pitch any responses to a computer software engineer level, I'm not very good with computers.

Is Adobe providing official Flatpak support for their standalone Flash Projector on Linux a possibility? Flatpak makes installing applications on Linux easier than ever. as it allows developers to distribute applications without having to synchronize with a Linux distribution, as well as having an built-in update mechanism. Instead of targeting Ubuntu, Fedora, etc, you target fixed "runtimes" such as org.gnome.Platform which are maintained by the community to ensure that an application will run on any distribution. Bundling your own libraries is also a possibility if you want absolute control over dependencies.

Is it also possible for the community to create a flatpak for the Adobe Flash Projector if Adobe won't do it themselves? I'm sure that if the EULA allowed it that the community would put in the time and energy to ensure that it works perfectly. For example, the Brackets editor is maintained on Flathub, and while it it open source, it is still an Adobe product that people are willing to maintain.

I understand that the Flash Projector is a relatively simple application to install and use, but there have been times where I've had to troubleshoot missing libraries, which just shouldn't be happening in 2018. It also is nice when there's official support from the developer or the community so that extra features like desktop shortcuts, updates, mimetypes/extension support, etc, are available to improve the experience.

Windows 10 Flash MS Update Issues

Recently I've noticed the all of the W10 1607 machines I admin are refusing to upgrade from 29.0.0.171 to 30.0.0.113 nor 30.0.0.134. This applies to only the ActiveX component. In fact the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx shows version 29.0.0.171.

I have only tried updating the ActiveX component with Microsoft Updates. The KBs I've tried are KB4287903 (yes I know it's from June) and KB4338832. I have tried both the 32bit and 64bit OS updates for kicks, neither work. I even tried all of the other Windows 10 versions of the update, didn't work.

I also tried to unregister and re-register the falsh.ocx and then apply the updates, didn't work.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to get the ActiveX components updated? The PPAPI and NPAPI are updating just fine.

But Internet Explorer is not recognising these installations. (Works fine with Chrome)

OS - Windows 7 64 bit
Internet Explorer - IE11.0.9600.17843IS

I have tried disabling ActiveX Filtering. But it still does not work.

I was told to install Adobe Flash to complete a training for work. I am installing Flash for Firefox and was able to download the .exe file to my computer. I double click on the file and it asks for what type of updates I would like. I tell them to update automatically and it opens up another box and shows it ready to install and says 0%. It states that it will begin shortly but never goes anywhere. I have tried all of the different ways I could possibly try to no avail. I went to the website to see what I might be doing wrong but nothing. I have Windows 7 on my PC. Why is it not getting past 0%?
