Cannot install Flash Player

All the programmes that have videos imbedded display a window that I/we need Flash Player. Go to download. it works till 43% and display a window to close IE. I have done so, but keep asking to close it after I click to retry. I end with no Flash Player installes and having to reopen all the windows, tags , etc.

What is hapenning?
